1. Contact
You fill out our simple questionnaire to provide me with your key details. I can immediately see whether you are eligible for naturalization and will get back to you.
2. Consultation
I will discuss the details with you and, in particular, inform you which documents I need for the application. Among other things, you must submit the following documents:
- Residence permit
- Proof of income, such as an employment contract or pay slip
- Information on old-age and health insurance
- A language certificate or corresponding school certificates
- A passed naturalization test
- Your rental agreement
- Registration certificate from the residents’ registration office
- A passport photo
- A declaration of loyalty to the free democratic basic order
3. Review of documents
Proof of your income is often not sufficient, as it must be ensured that your income is sufficient for you and any dependents you support. Sometimes alternative documents must also be obtained, for example to prove your nationality.
4. Submitting the application
Once all documents are available and have been checked, I will submit the application on your behalf. Alternatively, you can also choose to submit the application yourself online.
5. Urging prompt processing
Staff shortages and the large number of applications submitted mean that the authorities initially leave your naturalization application unprocessed. This carries the risk that documents will no longer be up to date by the time they are processed. This will result in inquiries and you will have to obtain and resubmit some documents. I prevent this by urging for prompt processing, which you are legally entitled to.
6. Naturalization appointment
In the final step, I will inform you of your naturalization appointment. It is essential that you attend this appointment to avoid any delays.
